Editorial policy

Everything we publish starts from data we hold: fixtures, results, line-ups, statistics and prices. These rules keep that data accurate and our writing honest.

What this policy covers

Match pages and their short summaries, previews and match reports, league roundups, daily tips, guides and data research, in every language edition.

How we use AI

Many texts are drafted with AI. The model never searches the web and is not allowed to add facts of its own: it receives a fact packet built by our code from our database (results, form, average market prices, line-ups) and must tie every factual claim to an item in that packet.

Every draft then passes automated checks (format, claims traced to the packet, team and player names, banned phrases, responsible-gambling language, length) and a second check by a model from a different family. A native-speaker reviewer approves AI-assisted articles before they are published: all of them while a language edition is new, then a regular sample.

Each AI-assisted article says so in a disclosure line. Live commentary lines and odds-movement notes are generated automatically from live data and are labelled as automated.

Odds in our writing

  • Articles quote average market prices together with the time they were taken.
  • Articles never name or link a bookmaker. Bookmaker prices appear only in the separate comparison module, and only in countries where bookmakers may be shown.
  • We call a price the best only when our comparison engine has calculated it.

Responsible gambling in our content

  • No promises of winnings, no sure bets, and no suggestion that betting is a skill or a source of income.
  • Tips are our reading of the data, not advice, and we publish how earlier tips turned out.
  • Nothing we publish is aimed at minors.
  • We follow the gambling advertising rules of every country we serve.

Independence

No bookmaker pays us today, and none will ever decide what we write, how we rate it or the order in which prices appear. If our funding changes, we will say so on how we make money.

Editorial responsibility

KNOW NOTA Inc. is the publisher and holds editorial responsibility for everything on scanodds. Articles carry the byline of our editor of record, Tomas Holinsky. When we hire editors, their real names will appear on the articles they write or review. How the work is organised is described on editorial team.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. When a correction changes the meaning of an article, we add a dated note to the article and to our corrections log.
