What we process

When you load a page

To deliver pages, our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details for the duration of the request and in short-lived security logs. We use the location derived from your IP address (your country and, in the United States, your state) to decide which sportsbooks, legal notices and TV listings to show. We do not store your IP address.

When you follow a sportsbook link

We record the sportsbook, your country, the page language, the type of page, the game or league, the time, and whether the visit looked automated. We record no IP address and no identifier.

Speed measurements

For one page view in ten, your browser sends anonymous speed measurements (Core Web Vitals) with the page type, country, language and device type, and no address or identifier.

Visit counts (Vercel Web Analytics)

Our hosting provider Vercel counts page views, referring sites, countries and device types for us without cookies. It tells visits apart by a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and stores no IP address or identifier.

Google Analytics, only with your consent

If you choose Accept all (or switch on Analytics) in our cookie banner, Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, measures which pages you view, how you reached us (referring site or campaign), your approximate location derived from your IP address (Google does not store the IP address), your device, browser and screen size, and interactions such as scrolling and following outbound links. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_0B3P6E193T, which tell repeat visits apart for up to two years. Google Analytics loads only after you accept: until then, and if you choose Reject non-essential or close the banner, it does not load at all, sets no cookies and sends nothing to Google.

When you write to us

If you use the contact form on our About us page or email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, your message, the page language and the page you wrote from. We use them only to reply to you and handle your request.

Stored on your device

  • Your favorites, color theme and display settings are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
  • If you pick a language on our language page, a cookie named so-locale remembers the choice for one year so we can open that language next time.
  • Your cookie choice is kept in your browser's local storage (scanodds-consent) for 12 months; after that we ask again.

Why we process it

  • Delivering the site and showing only what is lawful where you are: our legitimate interest and our legal obligations (Article 6(1)(f) and (c) GDPR).
  • Click and speed statistics: our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. These records contain no identifiers.
  • Storage on your device: strictly necessary, or set at your request.
  • Visit counts without cookies: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. They store no identifiers.
  • Google Analytics: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy rules on storing information on your device). Without it, Google Analytics sets no cookies.
  • Replying to your message: steps you asked us to take (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering questions sent to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Service providers

Our pages are hosted by Vercel; the servers that build them run in Dublin, Ireland. Our database runs on Supabase in the EU (Ireland). Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may process the data in the United States; that transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Messages from the contact form and emails to info@scanodds.com are delivered to our mailbox at Fastmail, provided by Fastmail Pty Ltd (Australia), which processes them on our behalf as a processor and stores them outside the European Economic Area; the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

Click and speed records contain no personal identifiers and are kept as statistics. Hosting request logs are kept only briefly for security. Data in your browser stays until you clear it.

Google Analytics keeps event data for at most 14 months. Its _ga cookies expire after up to two years, or are deleted as soon as you withdraw consent. Your cookie choice is kept for 12 months.

Contact form messages and our replies are deleted once the conversation has ended, and at the latest 12 months after your last message.

Your rights

You can ask to know, access, correct or delete personal data about you, restrict or object to its processing, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Write to info@scanodds.com; we honor these requests for every visitor, wherever you live, including residents of US states with consumer privacy laws such as California. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising. In the European Union you can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Czech Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.

You can withdraw your consent to Google Analytics at any time: choose Cookie settings in the footer of any page, then Reject non-essential. We then delete the _ga cookies from your browser. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it.

Children

scanodds is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and sportsbook content is for adults only.
