How payouts are calculated
return = stake in play × odds
For a parlay the decimal odds of all legs are multiplied together, and every leg must win. Profit is the payout minus the wager you paid.
Poland: stake tax and winnings tax
12% of every stake is tax, so only the rest is in play. A win above PLN 2,280 is taxed at 10% of the whole amount, not only the part above the threshold.
Example: a stake of PLN 1,000 at odds of 3.00. The stake tax is PLN 120, so PLN 880 is in play and the gross return is PLN 2,640. That is above the threshold, so the winnings tax is PLN 264 and you receive PLN 2,376.
Croatia: fee and progressive winnings tax
Operators deduct a 5% fee from every stake. Winnings are taxed in brackets, each rate applying to the part of the win inside its bracket (table below).
| Part of the win | Rate |
|---|---|
| up to €1,500 | 10% |
| €1,500 to €4,000 | 15% |
| €4,000 to €70,000 | 20% |
| above €70,000 | 30% |
Czechia and Slovakia
Players pay no tax on stakes or winnings: bookmakers pay tax on their gross gaming revenue instead.
Good to know
The figures are an estimate. Your sportsbook's bet slip and its rounding are what count. In the United States, gambling winnings are taxable income.
