How we make money
Today scanodds earns nothing from sportsbooks: we have no affiliate agreements and no paid placements.
Where we stand
KNOW NOTA Inc. funds scanodds. We have not joined any sportsbook affiliate program, no sportsbook pays us for clicks, sign-ups or positions, and there is no advertising on the site.
What our sportsbook links do
Links to sportsbooks go through our redirect at /go/. Before sending you on, it checks again that the sportsbook is licensed and may be shown where you are; if not, you return to our home page instead.
The redirect then adds referral parameters so the sportsbook can see that the visit came from scanodds:
utm_source=scanodds.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=en-us
The last value is the language of the page you came from. These parameters contain no personal data, and the redirect sets no cookies. Every sportsbook link is marked as sponsored for search engines.
What we record
When you follow a sportsbook link we record the sportsbook, your country (derived from your IP address, which we do not store), the page language, the type of page and the game or league, if any. These counts show which sportsbooks our readers find useful, and they will decide which affiliate programs, if any, we join.
If we join affiliate programs
- We will list every program on this page, and register with each state regulator that requires it.
- Commission will never decide which sportsbooks you see: that stays decided by licenses where you are.
- Commission will never change the order of prices or which price is marked best.
- Any paid or boosted placement will carry an advertising label.
How sportsbooks are ordered
In each state we show prices from up to three licensed sportsbooks whose odds we receive, followed by the other licensed sportsbooks as logos. The highest price for each outcome is marked best. Details are in our odds methodology.
